This year marks my 35th year in the staffing industry. Technically, since I took two gap years off after selling my prior staffing firm, I have been in the staffing arena for 33 years. Several of my close friends have called me crazy to open a staffing and talent acquisition firm now – but I see a true opportunity to offer my guidance and expertise. We are going to need industry experts with boots on the ground; in the trenches guiding, advising, counseling, and supporting all of the customers that will need us.
Putting people first is what TalentKeep will be doing. Over the years, I have had the privilege of helping thousands of people, changing many lives. We improved our clients’ ability to do business better by providing top talent to them; having saved them precious time by doing it swiftly and efficiently.
In a time, when honing in on and finding “best in class” talent is most critical, and creating job opportunities for candidates to find their new dream job is vital – I believe in my heart that we are opening at exactly the right time.
Everything’s changed – the way we work – the way we recruit – the technology we use – on and on! And although this is a change that no one could have ever predicted and more massive than ever before – it will be looked back on one day as positive change. I know it doesn’t feel this way now, and understand and see the struggles people are facing daily. But we have to dig deep and realize that we must “Bring it every day as business isn’t ours, it’s on loan to us, and it can be taken from us if we don’t protect it.”
You can never lean out or rest on your laurels in any business. If it’s not this pandemic; it’s always something at one time or another. Businesses are susceptible to different risks and challenges daily; as Leaders we must recognize this and prepare for it. Spending two years thinking about my prior business and writing a book on small business ownership (coming soon) has taught me just this!
A successful business owner must be resilient and know – you’re never done – you’re never finished – and once you’re finished – you start again.
I look forward to meeting new people and forming new business relationships. I give my heartfelt appreciation to all of my customers that spent 32 years with me prior. I was never afforded the opportunity to say “Goodbye” but I am hopeful that you will say “Welcome Back.” It has been a privilege working in the staffing business!
